Welcome Ezra
At 6:30 am this morning, things started picking up. The contractions were getting worse, and more frequent. At around 7:15 I started getting the car packed and gearing up, feeling like it would be soon. Jen called the doc and they told us to go ahead and come in. So we left the house at 7:30. We live 5 miles from the hospital, but it took us 25 minutes to get there. The longest 25 minutes I ever remember having. Once we were in the hospital, getting checked in, things kicked in to really high gear. I think the nurses doubted Jen was really in labor. 10 minutes, and 4 contractions later, they were convinced that it was time to get her to a room.
Upon arriving to our room, Jen was sure she couldn’t walk to the room. The nurses pushed, “It’s just around the corner. We need to get you to the room.” Slowly, we walked into the room. Once in the room and on the bed, the pushing began immediately. It was 8 am. After 40 minutes, his heart rate dropping a few times and a few other things that freaked us out, he was out. The whole thing lasted about 2 hours.
We are so thankful for a healthy boy. The nurses are checking his blood sugar on a regular basis as it has been low. The last few tests have looked much better, so we hope we’re on the way out.
Mom and baby are both healthy and doing well.
