A Few New Firsts
The last month has been a little crazy for our family so I apologize for not keeping you all up to date. We went to CA for vacation with my family for about 9 days. While there we did a number of fun things. One of Ezra’s highlights was seeing the monkeys at the zoo. I am not sure what kind they are but they make a lot of noise in the morning (which was when we were there). He loved it and cried when we went to see then next animal. There were two things in CA that were firsts for him. One was getting to play at the park. I have not been able to take the boys to a park since our weather had not been great and just thinking of trying to keep up with both them is a little more than I want to do most days. This time thought I had lots of help. We went with my brother, sister-in-law, their two kids, my mom, my dad, and of course Dustin and I with our boys. So Ezra got to climb the stairs go down the slides, and explore. It was great fun. The other first was getting to play in the sand box. He was content to play for quite some time with our without other kids. It was very fun to watch him. He also enjoyed the sand at the beach. It was his first time there when he could actually interact. Since we have been back he has had a few other firsts, mostly with food. He has had his first peanut butter sandwich (see his comments on that), grilled cheese, potato salad, green bean, grapes, apple (that was not cooked first), and chicken alfredo. I am trying to get him off the purees. He is loving it. He is still not walking yet but he is making a little more effort. He is now trying more often when Dustin or I are not standing in front of him. I take this as a great sign and a bit of progress. In the mean time he is very content to crawl as he is really fast at that. The other first that has happened this week is playing in the swimming pool. We filled up our little one on the grass the other day and he had a blast. He thought it was great to have such a huge “bath tub”. I love summer and all the fun that comes with it.
